"Where's everyone going, bingo?"
The first outbreak of zombies began in 1998, during the first cutscene you can see zombie dogs that chase you into a mansion, only three people survived Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield and Barry Burton. In this mansion Wesker turns on the rest of the group because he wanted to turn on the company called umbrella and create this person with super strength to get rid of all the S.T.A.R.S team. In Resident Evil 2, which was set 2 months after the first game you have two possible characters to play as, you can either play as Claire Redfield or Leon Kennedy. Leon is a a newly recruited police officer when it is his first day at work it all begins. Claire is looking for her brother Chris Redfield (from the first game). Claire saves a little girl called Sherry and helps her try to find her mum while Leon tries to figure out what is going on and comes across Ada Wong.
There is a total of 5 chapters in the game all with 1-4 sub chapters in them. Chapter 1 starts off with explaining what the backstory is and how to virus effected the villages of the town that worked there, In the chapter you will see lots of locations that you would normally see at a village for example you will see cabins, a village church and a farm with animals that have most likely been killed by the villagers, this sets a dark setting and leaving you with a lot of questions that you want answers to. At the start of chapter 2 you see Leon have a nightmare where he has been infected with the same virus that the villagers have but he wakes up and realizes that he is ok, in chapter 2-2 you will rescue the character Ashley who is the president's daughter. Chapter 4 is set in one of the well-known locations in the game as you are in the castle for most of the game from now. In chapter 5 it is the final chapter so what you have to do is beat the final boss in the game, first off you need to be able to save Ashley from the people that have captured her, when you have done that, you will fight the final boss in the game and then you need to escape with Ashley on a jet ski before everything blows up.

when you play the game you will notice little blue collectables like the one located above and what you need to do is shoot at it to collect it, they are commonly founf on things like trees and low bridges out of the way so that the player isn't able to find them easy. if you are lucky enough to collect 15 throughout the game you will be awarded with a special weapon in the shop.
If you were to play this game without knowing anything about the game it is going to take you around 10-14 hours to finsih, this is because the game has some puzzles that you might struggle to complete the first time or you may be out of resources that you need or you could die a lot but don't worry as when you get better at this game you can complete it anywhere between 4-8 hours. There are several speedruns where people try to complete the game in the fastest time possible of just over an hour, they get the time so short because they know the places that don't quite work properly for example they walk on an invisible platform to get to one of the end places which normally would take around 3 hours to get to so they end up saving around 3 hours when a person that doesn't play the game that much is most likely not going to know about any invisible platforms.
